But don’t just take our word on it, hear straight from our customers in Emmaus, Northampton, Whitehall, and Nazareth PA about why we are in fact the “Best Seafood Restaurant” in the Lehigh Valley.
We tried this out last weekend. The seafood was top notch. The crab cakes were excellent. No filler and all lump crab meat. They were succulent with just the right amount of moisture in a crab cake for my taste. I have had many different crab cakes and these are the best I have tasted. Delicious. The New England clam chowder was very good with large pieces of clam meat. The fish and shrimp was also good. Overall we had a great dining experience. The desserts were ok, but nothing stand out. The next time we go we will have the crab cakes and clam chowder and skip dessert.
Met up with some friends and was very happy the selection of happy hour beverages and appetizers. All delicious and reasonably priced. Been coming here before and after they closed due to the fire and their seafood is one of the best in the Lehigh Valley, especially the crab. No fillers in their crab cakes! Highly recommend this restaurant for dinner or drinks and snacks.
Wife and I both had seafood. The meal was good, but to be honest it was about the same level as "legal seafood" - just more pricey. Problem is the area, Allentown-Bethlehem area do not have a lot of good options. Thus the good ones can raise the prices for what they offer.
The food was exceptional and the staff was friendly. It excited my expectations, my first time there. I loved it
Loved the decor, and the multi levels. The fish was very fresh. We had the tidal wave which is a prefix priced multi course meal. $50 per person .I thought for the price they could have given a little more appetizer. Everything else was perfectly portioned. And perfectly cooked. Servers were very attentive, always filling water glasses and bringing drinks. Meal was brought out at a nice pace.

Food was excellent. Service was so quick, it was great! Very clean. Manager came over to ask how our meal was. Server was very attentive. We'll definitely be back.
Celebrated my daughter's 31st birthday last evening with another great meal at Youell's. We started with Lobster Bisque, which we both said is the best we've had, and ended by sharing a piece of Blueberry Carrot Cake, that was delicious , as were both our entrees. Our server Frank was also very attentive and added to the great time, thank you again.
This is a LONGTIME Valley favorite. Great seafood served many many ways. Seafood combinations are delectable. Being going here since they were in Easton. So say 30 yrs.
Both the quality of the food and the choices are phenomenal as is the service! We are one and a half hours away and always feel like the ride is worth it.
We just had a family birthday dinner celebration and I can't say enough great things about this place. We had reservations and when we arrived the table was ready. The waiter was attentive and cordial. The meals were amazing. Would give 10 stars if I could!!
We live in the neighborhood and went for Valentines eve, we were seated right away at our reservation time, the service was polite and attentive, and the food was delicious from appetizer to desert. Every time we eat here we are never disappointed!!!
This is the best seafood place around. Everything is so fresh and delicious. They never give you a bad experience here. Their steaks, lobsters, and crabs are amazing. I can come here everyday and eat. Best place to go.
Absolutely wonderful dinner! Ashley, our server, was delightful. Very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu, and very efficient. The food was amazing! My husband ordered the tuna tartare, and I had the half-dozen oysters. For dinner I had the San Francisco Cioppino, and my husband had the broiled Seafood combo. Everything was very fresh and absolutely delicious! My Riesling was perfect, and my husband tried BOTH kinds of Bloody Mary's! The atmosphere is nice, you're not sitting too close to the other tables. Will definitely come again!
Valley natives will have taken note that this essay has not included a visit to Youell’s, that long-term favorite…The reason is simple. If you’ve lived in the Lehigh Valley, are interested in seafood at all, and haven’t yet visited Youell’s to form your own opinion, I can’t help you.
Lehigh Valley Style
Youell’s is famous for one decadent side – the Chantilly potato…The fluffy, twice-baked dish somehow reels the taster into eating the entire plate. My husband, who ordered a very creamy, rich crab imperial, said, “the potatoes are almost as good as the crab and I usually don’t even touch the potatoes."
In an effort to understand Christian’s purist ideals, I ordered the jumbo lump crab meat heated with brown butter. I could swear that this meat was pulled out of the bay that morning.
The Allentown Times
Every city should be so lucky to have a neighborhood seafood restaurant like Youell’s Oyster House…Their soft shell crabs are to die for…just go when soft shells are in season. Maryland jumbo lump crabmeat dishes, clams, oysters, it’s all good. Full bar and early bird specials.
Lehigh Valley Metromix
My companion’s Maryland crab cake, ordered based upon my recommendation from a previous visit, was just as I remembered. The mountain of 1/3 pound of jumbo lump Eastern Shore Maryland crabmeat, browned at its peak from broiling, fell apart at first bite because there was no filler to hold it together. In combination with the roasted red pepper cream sauce in which it was served, this entrée was a standout.
The Morning Call
The not-to-be-missed appetizer, however, is the best lobster bisque I have ever tasted…this is a special entry in my book of taste memories.
