Delightful atmosphere and delectable choices of seafood. Very reasonable pricing for the amount of food you receive. The Bang Bang Shrimp was my fav!!! Elizabeth was an excellent and attentive server!!!
A n excellent seafood restaurant. Lobster thermidor was amazing &great presentation. Started with bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer. Ended with a most incredible dessert... Blueberry carrot cake!! I highly recommend YOUELLS
Very good grub. I thought the $59 seafood tower was a pretty dang good value. Hours could be a touch longer, but all in all I was quite pleased.
Great food. Great happy hour specials. Loved the tuna and the scallops wrapped in bacon. Their cosmos are great too!
We came here for a dinner with my parents. The atmosphere is cozy. The hosts & wait staff were all incredibly courteous & attentive. The food is to die for! Everything is fresh and delicious. It is a little on the pricey side but totally justified. We had an absolutely lovely dinning experience here, I'll definitely be recommending Youells to everyone!
Valley natives will have taken note that this essay has not included a visit to Youell’s, that long-term favorite…The reason is simple. If you’ve lived in the Lehigh Valley, are interested in seafood at all, and haven’t yet visited Youell’s to form your own opinion, I can’t help you.
Lehigh Valley Style
Youell’s is famous for one decadent side – the Chantilly potato…The fluffy, twice-baked dish somehow reels the taster into eating the entire plate. My husband, who ordered a very creamy, rich crab imperial, said, “the potatoes are almost as good as the crab and I usually don’t even touch the potatoes."
In an effort to understand Christian’s purist ideals, I ordered the jumbo lump crab meat heated with brown butter. I could swear that this meat was pulled out of the bay that morning.
The Allentown Times
Every city should be so lucky to have a neighborhood seafood restaurant like Youell’s Oyster House…Their soft shell crabs are to die for…just go when soft shells are in season. Maryland jumbo lump crabmeat dishes, clams, oysters, it’s all good. Full bar and early bird specials.
Lehigh Valley Metromix
My companion’s Maryland crab cake, ordered based upon my recommendation from a previous visit, was just as I remembered. The mountain of 1/3 pound of jumbo lump Eastern Shore Maryland crabmeat, browned at its peak from broiling, fell apart at first bite because there was no filler to hold it together. In combination with the roasted red pepper cream sauce in which it was served, this entrée was a standout.
The Morning Call
The not-to-be-missed appetizer, however, is the best lobster bisque I have ever tasted…this is a special entry in my book of taste memories.
